FAIRIES PLAY FLUTES

“She plays for travelers while they sleep, with skin of blue on her mushroom seat…”

My very first mural. Painted in a dormitory at Woodstock Beach Camp. A magical little hostel on Cat Ba Island, Vietnam. Some years back, I was volunteering there as a musician, artist, stage manager and barman. This design was originally just a sketch that I was playing with in my spare time, when the manager noticed it and asked if I would like to paint it. So I did.

Interestingly, I actually painted this picture twice. An intoxicated backpacker decided to destroy the original, much to the horror of her admirers. So I was tasked with the repainting and of course I did so immediately.
